I decided to try soaking my pizza crust and tortillas yesterday. I have never done this before, and I'm curious how they'll turn out.
I'll be back later to let you know this goes! Cooking with little ones under my feet can be challenging, but they love to help, so here's hoping I can keep a good attitude and we'll make good memories!
Hi~I came over thru Cow Camp Tales...I love the idea of a day of freezer cooking...can you share your recipes and any secrets to freezing your stuff? Thanks and have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHere is the recipe I use for tortillas: http://www.passionatehomemaking.com/2008/04/whole-wheat-tortillas.html

I usually make the tortillas & hamburger buns and then stick them in freezer bags. When I'm ready to use them I just set them on the counter to thaw, and maybe stick them in the oven if they need to be warmed.:) Glad you stopped by!
Oh, these sound like great time savers! I like to cook ahead when possible, too. So nice having dinner in the freezer! I came from Growing Home. :)
ReplyDeleteDo share any tips/tricks for the tortillas! I've got the pizza crust and buns down, but tortillas give me grief every time!
ReplyDeleteTortillas can be tricky, and they definitely give me problems too. I think one trick I've figured out is that I have to dust each tortilla ball with extra flour before I roll them, otherwise they are too sticky and wont come off my counter!
